| How did sandwich got its name? The most common version is that it was born one night at London at 1762 when an English nobleman, John Montagu, the Fourth Earl of Sandwich even though he was hungry he didn't wish to stop playing cards. So, he ordered a waiter to bring him some roast-beef between 2 slices of bread so that he wouldn't grease his fingers while eating and thus grease the cards. |
